Nvidia Geforce 9800 GTX Review
Rated at 675MHz core clock speed with 2200MHz effective memory, GeForce 9800 GTX hit the market in April, 2008. Priced at $329.99, this new GeForce model from Nvidia is based on the G92 GPU. Full specification: 675Mhz core clock speed, 512MB of GDDR3 (1100MHz) memory, 128 stream processors, 1688MHz shader clock, and a 256-bit memory interface. It has been somewhat disappointing to not see a considerable difference from the earlier Nvidia model, the GeForce 8800 GTS 512 (both use G92 family GPU processors from Nvidia). The biggest difference between these two models is the triple SLI (3-Way Scalable Link Interface) capability and a slightly improved core clock of the 9800 GTX model. Most video card geeks and gamers are probably not going to make a switch to this video card if they already have GeForce 8800GTS 512. |
